Burgundy
Burgundy will be everywhere. On lips, a matte texture is still very much alive and well – but the very latest incarnation is an ultra-glam glossy burgundy finish. A burgundy smoky eye is also a showstopping look, paired with tonal berry-hued blush.
Relaxed Contouring
Heavy wet/dry layered contouring and dramatic face-altering effects are making way for naturally enhancing your bone structure with highlighter, cream blush and a light bronzer. Even overdrawing and corrective lip and brow techniques will begin to die out in favour of embracing your natural shape. The au naturel off-duty model look will takeover throughout all of 2016 – we’ll be channelling Kendall, rather than Kim this year.
Bright Lips
Raspberry, red, fuschia, coral – the brighter the better. Matte is still the texture du jour when it comes to a bright or neon lip. The look needs flawless dewy skin and wide eyes and lashes, and is great paired with the season’s metallic eye.
Metallic Lids
Silver, gold, copper, gunmetal – pick a precious metal and pop it on your eyelid. A simple sweep with a bit of grit and texture is really on trend, so edges don’t have to be perfect – almost as though you’ve applied it with your fingers. Dabbing gloss over the top for a wet-look lid is another huge trend.
